The RV service people in Forest City are great. We checked in Tuesday afternoon without an appointment and they started on things Friday. That's not bad at all. The awning switch had a loose connection which they fixed that. The USB port on the Infotainment center was not accepting the MP3 player and we found out that the USB port will only accept a thumb drive. (Seems silly, but I did a little research and learned that each vehicle radio or infotainment center is different.) They check out all other problems and ordered necessary parts. We go back tomorrow to Forest City and hopefully they will have the parts needed to complete the work. They told Dave that the two passenger side slide mechanisms have been improved and they are replacing those for us. I imagine that we will be around here at least until Thursday and if they find other problems, we will stay as long as it takes. Our only deadline is Montana on August 1.
We are calm, cool and collected and really enjoying Iowa.

Pilot Knob State Park is one of the oldest units in the state park system. It was dedicated in 1923. Standing atop the tower on "Pilot Knob," the second highest point in Iowa, visitors have a spectacular view. From the tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, one can see great expanses of some of the most fertile farmland in the world. After glaciers leveled the prairies of north-central Iowa, they deposited the rocks and earth that formed the hills and valleys that are now Pilot Knob. In earlier times, pioneers used the Pilot Knob as a guide as they traveled west in covered wagons, thus giving the park its name. An open air amphitheater, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, is surrounded by scenic woods.
Forest City is a fairly small town, but interesting and comfortable. Very friendly people here in the midwest! After staying at Pammel city park in Forest City for the first two days, we moved to Oakwood RV Park in Clear Lake with full hook-ups. It is a beautiful and quiet park with huge sites. Tomorrow we will move back to Forest City to be available for service.
