The necessary repairs to the motor home were finished on June 4.  We headed back to the Oakwood RV Park in Clear Lake for a nice long weekend of living with full hookups and a house that didn't have to be vacated!  It was a lovely weekend.

Monday we drove from Iowa to the Timber Lake Resort outside of Mt. Carroll, Illinois seeing more beautiful midwest farms and crossing the Mississippi at Dubuque.

In every town and along the roadsides we saw beautiful flowers and shrubs.  These peonies were especially lovely.

The Timber Lake Resort is a lovely spot and we are enjoying the quiet time here.  Evidently, it is a very active park on the weekends with swimming pool, volleyball, rec hall, margarita bar.  One regular visitor said the he calls the week days here "R&R".  I would like to have a glimpse of all the activity on the weekends, but don't think it would be my cup of tea.  Our site looks right out on to a typical midwest lake - brown!  Nevertheless, it has been pleasant to sit out to listen to the birds and the bull frogs and to see the occasional blue heron and great egret.

We took a drive into Mt. Carroll today.  It is said to be one of the coldest spot in Illinois with winters getting to -35.  We'll take the 80's and humidity any day!
The fact is - we love seeing all of America!  I leave you with the Mt. Carroll Patriotic dragon.
